Self-Care and Team-Care in Peace and Conflict Work

1st September 2020
20th October 2020
Skill level

Many peace workers struggle to 'make time' for self-care in their daily lives. Such is the urgency and importance of the work that needs to be done, that most individuals and teams find it hard to navigate the boundaries of self-care, care for others and care for the whole. This webinar offers a theoretical and practical guide for integrating systems and practices of self-care on an embodied, day-to-day level. The content of this webinar is rooted on the principles and practices of Nonviolent Communication (Dr. Marshall Rosenberg), Mindfulness (Dr. Mark Williams and Dr. Penny Penman) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as implemented by the British National Health Service (NHS), as well as on the personal and professional experience of the trainer, living in and working in the frontlines of armed conflict and humanitarian crisis.

- Weekly online sessions, Tuesdays, 14:00 – 15:30 CET
- Solo and buddy practices
- Literatur, pre-recorded input and other material for self-paced learning
