Description

The proximity of radicalisation studies to studies of terrorism and securitization reduces the propensity to explore potential ways for and modes of de-radicalisation. Radicalisation may also be a form of societal and political protest that remains within the boundaries of democratic negotiation. Along these lines of reasoning, economic deprivation and political marginalization lead to strong emotions of resentment and frustration which may lead to radicalization into or without violence. This module looks into case studies such as Syria and Afghanistan.
