PRCA: Peacebuilding, Digital Transformation, and Human Rights Advocacy

The "Peace and Rights Civic Academy (PRCA)" is an intensive, 45-hour foundational training program developed under the EU-funded "Amplify Hope" initiative. Designed specifically for 1,200 vulnerable young women, men, and community activists within displacement camps and host communities in Khan Yunis and Rafah (Mawasi regions), this course serves as a strategic launchpad for bottom-up conflict transformation and human rights advocacy.

The curriculum is structured across five sequential modules, equipping participants with the essential theoretical and practical tools to transition from passive survival to active civic leadership. Participants will dive deep into international human rights standards, International Humanitarian Law (IHL), and United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1325 and 2250.

A heavy emphasis is placed on actionable field skills, including the principles of Non-Violent Communication (NVC), community-based mediation, and strategic dispute analysis—crucial for mitigating localized tensions over scarce resources. Furthermore, to combat the rising threat of community fragmentation, the course incorporates advanced modules on digital literacy, focusing on countering online hate speech and utilizing digital storytelling to foster social cohesion.

By the end of this course, certified "Community Peace Facilitators" will possess the technical readiness to successfully design, pitch, and execute localized civic micro-projects funded through the project's sub-granting mechanisms.

By the end of this course, participants will achieve the following objectives:

1. Master Foundations of Human Rights & IHL: To equip 1,200 youth and women with a solid understanding of international human rights standards, International Humanitarian Law (IHL), and UNSCR 1325 and 2250, contextualized within local mechanisms.

2. Deploy Non-Violent Conflict Transformation Tools: To train participants in utilizing Non-Violent Communication (NVC), strategic dispute mapping, and community mediation techniques to successfully resolve localized disputes over scarce resources.

3. Counter Misinformation & Digital Hate Speech: To develop advanced digital literacy skills enabling participants to monitor, analyze, and counter online hate speech and information pollution while launching positive social cohesion campaigns.

4. Design and Implement Strategic Advocacy Campaigns: To build capacity in creating and executing community-led, data-driven advocacy initiatives—such as interactive theater and civic petitions—to institutionalize youth and women's roles in local administration.

5. Develop Project Management & Governance Capacities: To technically prepare grassroots activists and informal initiatives to design, pitch, and execute community-vetted sub-grant micro-projects with high financial transparency and administrative accountability.

The course is open to young women and men (aged 18-29) and grassroots community activists residing in Khan Yunis and Rafah (Mawasi regions) in Gaza Strip. No prior formal training in peacebuilding is required. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to civic engagement, human rights, and a willingness to participate actively in community-led dialogue initiatives.
