Acerca de

A specialist in peace building, conflict management, transformation and prevention, Yeshim is an experienced trainer and practitioner. Her current and past clients included UN agencies, diplomats, government officials and NGOs from the Middle East, Central Asia, South and North America, Africa and South East Asia.

Yeshim’s training is based on a combination of her work as a practitioner on the ground and her academic experience. She worked with hundreds of displaced people, civic leaders, women groups, community organisations, and business people plus parliamentarians and political figures. Her conciliatory initiatives in challenging environments included including Cyprus, Northern Ireland, South Africa, Turkey, Lebanon, Colombia and the Balkans.

Her work with those who are reluctant to dialogue due to their polarising and extreme views was much praised by the international community. She has initiated and led high-level platforms, partnered with the UN, UNGC, UNDP and the UK Foreign Office. One of her initiatives led to a pioneering dialogue platform in Cyprus which is still working successfully, despite the ongoing tensions on the ground.

Yeshim has played leading roles in peacebuilding programmes during the years she worked for the UK Parliament’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Conflict Issues. She has publications on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security; participatory approaches to peacebuilding; multi-sector, multi-track dialogue, plus diversity and inclusivity in conflict resolution.

Yeshim has a Diploma in Conflict Resolution and Facilitation; a Certificate of Mediation and Peace-Making in Complex Conflicts, a MSc on EU expansion and the European Regional Development Fund and social cohesion in the EU. During her project work, Yeshim was personally coached by South African and Northern Irish chief negotiators. She is a Senior Research Fellow at University of Kent’s Conflict Analysis and Research Centre.
